COVID-19 cases reach 170 million globally
(VOVWORLD) - As of Friday night, COVID-19 cases totaled 170 million globally, with deaths exceeding 3.53 million, according to worldometers.info. The US leads the world for most COVID-19 indicators.

In the US, COVID-19 cases approached 34 million with nearly 608,000 deaths. It is followed by India with 27.7 million infections and more than 322,000 deaths. Brazil ranked third with 16.4 million infection cases and 460,000 deaths.
South Asia is the world’s COVID-19 hotspot, recording more than 30 million infections on Friday.
In Europe, the Netherlands and Ireland announced that they would open restaurants, museums and cinemas early next month lifting lockdown period.
Meanwhile, WHO's European director Hans Kluge warned Friday that the Covid-19 pandemic won't end until at least 70 percent of people are vaccinated.
