(VOVWORLD) - The Creative Design Festival opened on Friday evening at the Ly Thai To Monument in the walking space of Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi.
Coorganized by the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee and the Vietnam Architects Association, the event highlights creativity and technology. The festival is an annual activity to implement Hanoi’s initiatives and commitments to UNESCO when Hanoi joins the Creative Cities Network.
This year's festival focuses on design and technology, with the event scale and space expanded, aiming to create conditions for Hanoians, domestic and international tourists to participate together, experience and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Do Dinh Hong, Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said: "The Festival is a cultural space of impressive designs and performances of intangible cultural heritages by People’s artisans and artists. Hanoi calls on people nationwide to work together in building the capital Hanoi, from a city for peace to a creative city as recognized by UNESCO.”
Christian Manhart, UNESCO Chief Representative in Vietnam, affirmed that since becoming a member of the Creative Cities Network of UNESCO in the field of design in 2019, Hanoi has constantly expanded its vision to become a creative capital and build a dynamic cultural industry.
He emphasized that individuals are once again showing how their innovative spirit can contribute to the construction of a city for the benefit of each citizen.
