Indian forces have increased firing along the contested border known as the Line of Control (LOC), Major General Asif Ghafoor, the chief spokesman of the Pakistan armed forces, said in a tweet.

Kashmir, a majority-Muslim region in the north, has been partitioned between the two countries since 1947. It’s been a major hot spot ever since, sparking deadly clashes as both sides vie for more control.
