The two sides discussed boosting cooperation in trade, investment, education, telecommunications, and smart city building, especially in the areas of Sweden’s strengths, which are needed by Vietnam at present for national development.
The Deputy PM expressed his belief that the Swedish businesses accompanying the Crown Princess would land a lot of deals with Vietnamese partners, helping to advance bilateral trade and investment and seize new opportunities created by the upcoming European Union-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
Speaking at the Sweden-Vietnam Business Summit called “Partnering for Sustainable Development”, the Deputy Prime Minister said Vietnam is reforming its legal system to attract more investors including those from Europe at large and Sweden in particular.
“The Vietnamese economy is improving and becoming more open while the legal system has become more stable and transparent. Vietnam wants to cooperate and learn from the experience of other countries and economic groups to catch up with the 4th Industrial Revolution. Sweden has a lot of developmental experience,” said Mr. Minh.
The Swedish Crown Princess is on an official visit to Vietnam from Monday to Wednesday.
