In a press conference, after the 3rd Cuba-America Bilateral Commission Meeting on Sunday in Havana, Cuba’s Foreign Ministry’s Director General for US Affairs, head of the Cuban delegation, Josefina Vidal said that both countries agreed to conduct high-level visits and environmental and hydrological exchanges, combat drug and human trafficking, and illegal migration. Cuba and the US will begin a dialogue on intellectual property, and continue current cooperation on climate change, trade, and economics. Vidal said both countries have made progress in political and diplomatic relations. However, the US economic embargo on Cuba still exists, which restricts bilateral trade. The 4th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission will be held in September in Washington.
