Pedro Luis Pedroso, deputy director of Multilateral Affairs and International Law of Cuba said Cuba hopes the dialogue will take place in a constructive environment, on a reciprocal basis, adding that the talks should respect sovereign equality without discriminatory treatment, and not interfere in each other's domestic affairs. Pedroso said Cuba will voice its concerns about human rights in the United States and in other nations where Washington has a direct influence. He added that Cuba is aware of the deep differences with the US government over political systems, democracy, human rights, and international law, but Cuba is willing to talk with the US.
