(VOVworld) - Cuba and China signed new agreements on Friday aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in telecommunications, industry, and water resources.
Signatories were Zhang Xiangchen, Deputy International Trade Representative of China's Ministry of Commerce and Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuba's Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment.
Zhang told reporters following the signing that both sides reviewed the advances made in bilateral relations and planned economic cooperation for the next year. Malmierca said the agreements prelude an expansion of bilateral economic cooperation, adding that Chinese investment in Cuba has started to blossom and the two countries have a joint strategic vision of the future. China is currently Cuba' s second largest trading partner.
