Cuba holds local elections
(VOVWORLD) -Millions of Cuban voters participated in local elections on Sunday, the first step in the process of selecting a successor to President Raul Castro.

The 86-year-old Castro called for local elections after he announced that he will resign as President of the Council of Ministers and the Council of State next February. Election results are expected to be announced on Monday.
After the local elections, Cuba will hold a National Assembly election.
