At a workshop in Da Nang on Tuesday on developing human resources for the semiconductor industry, Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, said developing the chip design and manufacturing industry is one of the city’s top priorities.
Da Nang expects the digital economy to account for at least 30% of its GRDP. It has 8,950 digital technology businesses with 115,000 employees, Chinh said.
“Resources are not only new opportunities to make changes in areas where Da Nang has advantages, but also the determiner of the entire political system, the business community, and training institutions,” said Chinh.
He underscored the need to immediately train engineers, promulgate policies to attract experts and students to the semiconductor industry, invest in the development of existing microchip businesses, and promote large businesses for spillover.
