Daily cases of COVID-19 continue to decrease sharply in Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Health said on Friday that more than 39,300 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the past 24 hours in 62 provinces and cities of Vietnam, a decrease of more than 6,500 cases compared to Thursday. During the day, 60,609 patients recovered.
As of Friday, the COVID-19 vaccination rate for people aged 18 years and over in Vietnam is 100%, second dose vaccination rate is 99.8%, and third dose rate is 50.4%. 99.8% people aged 12 to 17 has been injected the first dose and 95% of them has got the second dose.
The Ministry of Health is now ready to vaccinate children aged 5 to under 12 as the first batch of COVID-19 vaccine funded by the Australian Government will arrive in Vietnam on Saturday. The second batch of vaccines is due for next Wednesday and the third batch before April 18.
About 7 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for children from 5 to under 12 will arrive in Vietnam before April 18.
