(VOV) -A tourism promotion night was held in Danang city on Tuesday attended by travel agencies from Danang and the Republic of Korea. The event, co-organized by the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam and the Danang Department of External Affairs, provided an opportunity for the two countries to introduce their direct flights and seek cooperation partners.

Kang Sungghil, chief representative of the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam, says: "Cultural and tourism exchange between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea has seen strong development recently. More than 100,000 Vietnamese visited the Republic of Korea last year and I hope the figure will grow. The number of Korean tourists to Vietnam also is growing significantly. Da Nang is a very beautiful coastal city, well known for its many resorts and tourist complexes meeting international standards. We’ll introduce and promote the beautiful images of Da Nang to Korean people to attract more Korean tourists to Da Nang in the future."

Over the past 2 years, the number of Korean visitors to Danang has doubled and Korea now ranks fifth in number of tourists visiting the city. Most of them came on direct flights from Incheon which arrive twice a week.
