Deputy PM lauds Vietnam Red Cross Society’s achievements
(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has congratulated the Vietnam Red Cross Society for its achievements and thanked the selfless and effective assistance of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) for humanitarian activities.
Mr. Dam addressed a meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday to mark the Society’s 60-year membership in the Federation and its 71st founding anniversary: “Today, the Vietnam Red Cross Society is popular with its loving volunteers. The Society has provided material and spiritual assistance to the needy and helped protect the environment, respond to climate change, and reduce poverty. It’s important that the volunteers spread humanitarian values across society.”
The Vietnam Red Cross Society currently has nearly 8.5 million members and volunteers.
