Speaking at a meeting in Hanoi on green transportation and electric vehicle charging stations, Mr. Ha called for a special inter-sectoral mechanism and a national program and plan on green transition in the transportation sector.
He asked the Ministry of Transport to offer incentive mechanisms to encourage manufacturers, importers, and users of electric vehicles. In the long term, there should be policies on investment, planning, land use, and taxes concerning green transportation development, he said.
“The Ministry of Construction and People's Committees of provinces and cities should issue temporary guidelines for the installation of charging stations in urban and public areas by 2026. Priority should be given to land allocation and electricity infrastructure,” the Deputy PM noted.
