Deputy Prime Minister holds talks with Secretary-General of the Francophonie
(VOVworld) - The Francophone countries are among Vietnam’s important partners towards further economic cooperation, apart from their traditional ties.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh told Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, Mechaelle Jean, in Hanoi on Wednesday that he wished for more cooperation in trade with African countries, business start-up encouragement, French language teaching and UN peace keeping activities. During their talks, the Francophone Secretary General pledged more support for Vietnam’s international economic integration, women and youth issues, tax and financial reform. She urged parties in the East Sea disputes to settle conflicts by peaceful means in line with international law.
After the talks, both leaders witnessed the singing of an agreement between the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and the International Organization of La Francophonie on French language training courses for Vietnamese diplomats and officials.
