(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung attended the diplomatic sector’s patriotic emulation congress for the 2011-2015 term in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Regarding the sector’s directions and plans for the next 5 years, Prime Minister Dung said: “Emulation movements should go along with efforts to implement political tasks in the national interest and for construction and defense. External relations and international integration should contribute to building an environment of peace and stability, consolidating friendship and cooperation with other nations, and safeguarding national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Political and diplomatic measures should be effective in to settling disputes and differences in line with international law. A spirit of international solidarity should be promoted on the basis of the UN Charter and international law with respect to each other’s independence, sovereignty, and interests, mutually beneficial cooperation, unity in building an ASEAN Community, and the responsibility of being an active member of the international community.”
