(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s major newspapers featured Vietnam’s 12
th National Party Congress which opened on Thursday in Hanoi.

The People’s daily newspaper ran an editorial on the National Party Congress in the new period. It said the 12
th National Party Congress marked a new milestone in the nation’s development in Ho Chi Minh era to build Vietnam with a rich people, strong country and a democratic, equitable, and civilized society. According to the editorial, after 5 years of implementing the resolution of the 11
th National Party Congress and under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), Vietnam has overcome numerous difficulties and challenges to gain significant achievements. Vietnam is entering new period when its position and international prestige is enhanced, thus posing more challenges to the Party. The newspaper also ran article featuring people’s wish that competent leaders will be selected at the 12
th National Party Congress.
The People’s Army newspaper issued a special edition to welcome the 12th National Party Congress. Its front page featured the image of President Ho Chi Minh and his statement: “Our Party means the moral civilization, unity, independence, peace and prosperity”. It also includes an editorial saying that the 12th National Party Congress marked a breakthrough in thought and practicality of the Party’s leadership over the past 3 decades. It also conveyed the wish that the Congress will work out proper leading guidelines to promote national development and that moral and talented leaders will be selected to the CPV’s Central Committee in the new term.
The Liberated Sai Gon newspaper ran an editorial featuring people’s trust in the Communist Party of Vietnam as well as the Party’s responsibilities. According to the editorial, more than 1,500 representatives on behalf of 4.5 million Party members will contribute their ideas to the Party’s resolution and select outstanding Party members to the Central Party Committee.
