(VOVWORLD) - Former US president Donald Trump was left off the Forbes 400 list of America’s richest people for the first time in a quarter-century, the magazine reported Tuesday.

The business magazine estimates his net worth fell by about 600 million USD during the COVID-19 pandemic as big-city properties — the core of his assets — lost value, leaving him with a 2.5 billion USD fortune. He was 400 million USD behind the 400th entry on the list.
From 1997 to 2016, Donald Trump maintained a spot in the top half of The Forbes 400. But things took a turn for the worse the year he won the presidency. When he took office in January 2017, Trump's fortune was estimated at 3.5 billion USD. When he left the White House, his fortune fell by more than 1 billion USD, making Trump's position drop 300 places on the Forbes list.
After five years of dropping in the rankings, he’s now off the list entirely.
