(VOVworld) - Donald Trump won enough electoral votes to become the next President of the US and Mike Pence was elected Vice President.

538 electors met on Monday to cast their ballots to decide the US Presidential election.

4 Democratic electors did not vote for Hillary Clinton and Republican electors did not vote for Donald Trump. But Trump still surpassed the 270 electoral votes needed to secure a win. The final tally was Trump 304 and Clinton 228.

The Electoral College vote will be officially confirmed in a joint session of Congress on January 6^th. President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence will be sworn into office on January 20^th.
