The program, organized by Bac Ninh province, introduced Dong Ho folk paintings and Quan Ho folk songs to international friends and the Vietnamese community in France.
Vietnam is currently seeking UNESCO recognition of Dong Ho folk paintings as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding, with a decision expected in December 2025.
Visitors to the event, under the guidance of artisans, experienced first-hand the craft of making Dong Ho folk paintings, writing calligraphy, and shaping to he, traditional toy figurines made from colored rice dough.
Mrs. Anoa Suzanne Dussol Perran, Vietnam's Tourism Ambassador to France, said: "As the Tourism Ambassador of Vietnam in France, I’m very honored to come to the Vietnamese Cultural Center to introduce this program. I’m always eager to promote Vietnam's tourism products, cuisine, and destinations."
According to Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang, the event created an opportunity to strengthen cooperation in culture, tourism, education, and economics, and deepen the special relationship between Vietnam and France.
