The Chinese top leader was welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by President Cuong and some other senior leaders.
This is Mr. Xi's first overseas visit in 2025, his fourth visit to Vietnam, and the second within his current term. It demonstrates the high regard that the Chinese Party, State, and leader have for the friendly neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China.
Both nations are celebrating the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties and the Vietnam–China Year of Humanistic Exchange 2025, less than a year after the State visit to China by Party General Secretary To Lam.
This visit by Mr. Xi is an important political event with strategic significance and a long-term impact on Vietnam-China relations as the two countries enter a new era of development. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son said:"The leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam are looking forward to the visit and expect that it will be fruitful in increasing high-level strategic exchanges, particularly regular contacts between the top leaders of the two Parties and countries."
"This will strengthen political trust, expand experience sharing in governance and national development, and promote the stable and healthy development of bilateral relations amid complex global and regional changes," according to Deputy PM Son.
