Draft law on democracy implementation puts people at centre
(VOVWORLD) - Lawmakers on Tuesday reached consensus on the need to adopt a draft Law on Implementation of Democracy at Grassroots Level, which, the drafting agency said, puts people at the centre.

Some suggested more attention to heads of residential areas and villages and the implementation of democracy in both State-owned and non-State enterprises.
“Grassroots democracy should be well exercised to ensure transparency in the use of public resources in areas related to the people and community," said Deputy Hoang Van Cuong of Hanoi.
"I propose that all activities related to the management of public resources, except state secrets, be publicized. This will help us make better decisions,” he said.
Tuesday’s session was part of the 19-day mid-year sitting of the National Assembly, which will conclude this week.
