On the same day, the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security’s rescue team, operating in Zabu Thiri town on the outskirts of Nay Pyi Taw, recovered another victim at 11:45 AM local time.
Meanwhile, Myanmar’s military leader General Min Aung Hlaing, said the number of casualties is expected to exceed 3,000.
Rescue efforts are facing significant challenges due to power outages, fuel shortages, and unstable communication networks. The lack of heavy machinery has slowed down search operations, forcing many rescuers to rely on manual labor. Additionally, daytime temperatures in Myanmar have surpassed 40 degrees Celsius, further exhausting the rescue teams.
