(VOVworld) – The US National Institute of Health (NIH) said it is conducting the second clinical trial of Ebola vaccines produced by Canada – VSV-ZEBOV.
NIH said 39 adults involved in human testing have been injected with two doses of Ebola vaccines and their immune system response is being monitored.
Early this month, the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research was simultaneously testing the vaccine candidate as a single dose at its Clinical Trials Center in Silver Spring, Maryland.
The Institute said results were positive because the tested people have not developed symptoms as in Ebola infected people. In related news, Cuba sent 83 doctors and nurses to Guinea and Liberia on Wednesday to assist in dealing with Ebola.
