(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will pay an official visit to Cambodia and attend the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summit from Tuesday to Sunday.

In an interview with the media, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu said that this is the first official visit to Cambodia by Mr. Chinh as Prime Minister, and it holds great significance.
The visit takes place during the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2022 in celebration of 55 years of bilateral diplomatic ties. Cooperation in economics, trade and investment, and border, security and defence collaboration will be further stepped up after the visit, said Mr. Vu.
“Economics, trade, and investment will be spotlighted during the visit. Two-way trade is expected to surpass the 10 billion USD mark this year. Vietnam’s investment in Cambodia has hit 3 billion USD, the highest among ASEAN states."
Leaders of both countries will discuss ways to strengthen connectivity between the two economies and promote trade and investment, said Deputy Foreign Minister Vu.
