(VOVworld) – The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Van Thang has asked localities to be prepared to cope with typhoon Wutip which make landfall in the central region the same day. Thang was speaking at Monday’s meeting of the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control. Meanwhile, at a meeting with Thua Thien Hue authorities on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai asked the central coastal provinces to check reservoirs and hydro power dams so that they can safely release flood water: “The locality has pointed out that Hoa My reservoir was the weakest in the locality as it hasn’t reserved water for this year. Reservoirs and other hydro power sites have worked out flood prevention plans”.

The same day, Deputy Prime Minister Hai inspected flood prevention schemes in Huong Tra commune and flood prevention provision in Quang Tri province.
