(VOVWORLD) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Saturday that Egypt demands an immediate unconditional ceasefire and the continuous entry of aid to the Gaza Strip.
Mr. Shoukry's remarks came in a joint press conference with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman El-Safadi and US Secretary of State Blinken in Amman following their meeting with the Foreign Ministers of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, as well as Palestinian officials concerning the situation in Gaza.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister also warned that there is an urgent need to resolve the situation before the conflict spreads to affect the security and stability of all peoples in the region.
The solution, said the minister, lies in an independent Palestinian state. Egypt once again called for swift action to revive the peace process in accordance with the two-state solution.
The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) announced on Saturday the delivery of the 11th installment of urgent humanitarian aid to the Palestinian Red Crescent in Gaza via the Rafah border crossing.
According to the ERC, the delivery comprised 47 trucks carrying food, water, relief supplies, medicines, and medical equipment.
In a statement Friday on X, formerly known as Twitter, the CEO of the ERC Rami El-Nazir stated that the stock of aid coming from around the world for Gaza is on the verge of running out. El-Nazir urged everyone to continue supporting the critical humanitarian campaign for Gaza.
In another development, Hezbollah, Israel exchanged fire as violence spikes at Lebanese border. Israel said it had no intention of entering a war in the northern front with Lebanese Hezbollah, but stressed that Israel is ready nonetheless to any situation.
