(VOVworld) - The plenary session of the General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) opened in Brunei on Thursday. The Vietnamese delegation was led by Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong. She called for concrete and practical recommendations to minimize differences, harmonize laws, and further uphold the ASEAN member states’ legislatures in their political systems.
The Vice Chairwoman called on AIPA to continue to support ASEAN in politics, security, socio-economics, environment, green growth, and sustainable development. She said that the Vietnamese legislature will work with the Government to overhaul the economy, and improve the legal system and business environment.
