(VOVworld) – German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Monday that 27 EU members have defined priorities for the bloc’s future development and promised to actively push such plans forward. She said she respects the British people’s decision to leave the EU but feels sorry about the Brexit result.

EU states have pledged to stay united and work harder together to push forward with the European project. They will convene at a Summit in Bratislava, Slovakia, on September 16, to discuss the importance of economic development, including digitization. Security at borders and job opportunities for young people will be given due attention. They will double their joint efforts in negotiations with Britain after it officially leaves the EU.
