(VOVworld) – The European Union won’t consider the possibility of the repayment of a debt by Ukraine for Russian gas, said head of management of European Commission of power Dominique Ristori on Tuesday.

Mr. Ristori said that the EU has provided significant macrofinancial support to Kiev and had close contacts with the International Monetary Fund to promote reform of the energy market in the Ukaine, adding that it is important. Russia’s Gazprom group stopped supplying gas to Kiev after the deadline of June 16^th. Ukraine’s Naftogaz group owed 5.3 billion USD to Gazprom, including a bill of 4.5 billion USD for gas that Russia had supplied to Ukraine.
