According to the EC, the meeting aims to prepare for the second ministerial-level meeting slated for next week. The participants will continue to discuss the agenda worked out at the first negotiation held last week in Warsaw, Poland. This included fuel transportation, Ukraine’s unpaid fuel debts to Russia, fuel price as well as the transparency and reliability of fuel source.
At the first negotiation, energy officials of all parties agreed that Russia’s fuel supply to Ukraine and EU would be not suspended during the time of negotiation. But on Thursday, Moscow said Kiev had to pay in advance for its purchased fuel as Ukraine still owns billions of USD to Russia.
