(VOVWORLD) - The European Union is boosting cooperation with Russia despite sanctions related to the poisoning of former spy Sergei Skripal and accusations of Russian cyber attacks by the Netherlands.
Speaking to reporters in Tomsk on Monday, EU Ambassador to Russia Markus Ederer said these regretful incidents have damaged ties between the EU and Russia. He said the EU has rules and abides by international law, but strives to cooperate with other countries and find a common voice.
Ederer said the EU and Russia maintain cooperation in education and science.
