EU says it's hard to see Brexit solution
(VOVWORLD) - The European Union’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier said he still ‘can’t see’ a deal over Brexit happening, as the Irish border issue remains unresolved.

After a talk with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas on Monday, Mr. Barnier said UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s demands to get rid of the Irish backstop are ‘unacceptable’. Barnier said that based on current UK thinking, it is difficult to see how they can arrive at a legally operative solution which fulfills all the objectives of the backstop. He added that the EU is still open to dialogue and listening to the UK’s ideas about future bilateral relations.
