EU urges Armedia, Azerbaijan to stop fighting
(VOVWORLD) - European Council President Charles Michel had separate phone talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani Ilham Aliyev on Thursday regarding the Nagorny-Karabakh tension. He said that establishing a ceasefire and resuming the peace process in the OSCE Minsk Group framework are vital.

He released the content of their talks and expressed his deep concern over the escalating tension there. He said civilians must be protected and the OSCE will maintain its mediation effort.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday that Minister Sergei Lavrov and EU High Representative on Security and Foreign Policies Josep Borrell talked on the phone stressing the importance of an immediate ceasefire in Nagorny-Karabakh.
