Michel Rejins, spokesman for the Chairman of the Eurogroup, said Wednesday that the finance ministers will convene the extraordinary meeting after Greece and international lenders reached a basic agreement in Athens last Tuesday to provide Greece 85 billion euros over the next 3 years. But the Greek government and parliament will be expected to approve the deal by Thursday prior to the Eurogroup’s approval on Friday.
Once the bailout package is approved, Greece will receive a first disbursement of 10 billion euros to pay its 3.2-billion-EUR debt to the European Central Bank next Thursday.
