(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s traditional long dress (the ao dai) and typical dishes of Hue were introduced to visitors at a festival that took place in Hue city last weekend.
Certificates and souvenirs are given to designers of the Hue Ao Dai and Culinary Festival 2020.

The 3-day festival featured a showcase of ao dai collections made by 16 famous designers and collectors in Hue.
Organizers staged a special art program to honor local artisans and designers, alongside workshops to promote ao dai making in Hue. One of the highlights of the event was a culinary festival at which 35 domestic and international hotel groups and travel companies introduced Hue-style food and beverages.
Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said at the festival’s closing ceremony Sunday evening, “This is the first time the provincial administration has organized such an Ao Dai and Food Festival to popularize Hue’s culture, heritages and specialties. We hope everyone will continue to promote the ao dai, a signature cultural feature of Hue.”
Hue authorities have revived the wearing of the ao dai in State agencies, mandating that both men and women wear them on the first Monday of each month.
