Festival of Tran Thuong Temple and Seal-stamp opening ceremony at Tran temple
(VOVworld) - Ha Nam province held a ceremony on
Friday to receive a certificate recognizing Tran Thuong Temple festival and
Saint Tran’s food distributing festival as national intangible cultural
heritages. Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, local leaders and people
attended the event. Located in Nhan Dao Commune, Ly Nhan District, Ha Nam
Province, Tran Thuong Temple is dedicated to Tran Quoc Tuan, a supreme
commander of the country during the Tran Dynasty, who selected the location as
a food store for his army to defeat Mongol invaders in the 13th
century.

A seal-stamp opening ceremony at Tran temple in
the northern province of Nam Dinh took place on Friday. Party, State and local
leaders as well as representatives of the Tran family clan offered incense in
commemoration of ancestors. Mayor of Nam Dinh City, Le Quoc Chinh, in his
speech praised the festival’s significance in a hope of peace and prosperity,
national development and productivity.
The ceremony involved the re-enactment of a
custom dating back to the Tran dynasty, where a seal parade moved from Co Trach
Temple to Thien Truong Temple followed by a seal opening ceremony. Nguyen Thi
Xuan Thu is a visitor from Ninh Binh province: “I pray for my family’s good health, a bumper crop and good school
performance for my kids, then I feel tranquility in my mind. This is a special
traditional ceremony so that younger generation could learn from their
ancestors’ national defense traditions.”
