Ethnic Armenian officials in the enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh said that 21 more servicemen have been killed in the fighting with Azerbaijan, bringing total military deaths to 244 since the conflict broke out on September 27.

The same day, Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu arrived in Azerbaijan to discuss the conflict after Russia, the US, and France called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to agree to an "unconditional ceasefire".

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg called on Turkey, a close ally of Azebeijan, to use its influence to calm the conflict.

Sergei Naryshkin, head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, warned that Nagorno-Karabakh region risks becoming a launch pad for fighters who could enter Russian territory. Naryshkin said he expects Armenia and Azerbaijan to return to the negotiating table.
