First domestic shrimp facility recognized as meeting OIE disease standards
(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on Sunday certified a shrimp seed production facility by the Vietnam-Australia Seafood Corporation as meeting pathogen safety standards set by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).

The facility, located in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu, is the first and only in Vietnam to meet the standards.
“It took a lot of time, efforts and money to achieve the OIE standards. We need to extend this model to other shrimp farming regions in order to reach the goal of 10 billion USD in shrimp exports by 2025,” said Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien.
