(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s first private museum ‘Russian Literature in Vietnam’ was inaugurated in Bac Ninh province on Saturday.

Addressing the launch ceremony, well-known Vietnamese translator Hoang Thuy Toan, also the museum’s founder, expressed his hope that those who share the same interest in Russian literature with him and relevant agencies will join hands to make the museum a venue characterized with the Russian culture and literature in Vietnam.

First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Vietnam, Vladimir Shustov said literature is a means to quickly understand the culture of a nation. Thus it will become a place to preserve heritages of the Russian culture and for those who are studying Russian in Vietnam to exchange knowledge and information. The 2-storey museum displays books, newspapers, and publications of various kinds since the early 20th century that translator Hoang Thuy Toan has collected so far.
