(VOVworld) - A US commercial flight has arrived in Cuba for the first time in more than half a century.

JetBlue Flight 387, carrying 150 passengers, took off from Fort Lauderdale airport, Florida, and landed in Santa Clara in central Cuba on Wednesday. JetBlue’s Executive Vice President Marty St George said the flight had opened a new era of travel to Cuba with affordable fares and great service.

Earlier, the Cuban government approved the final documents which allow American Airlines and JetBlue to carry out regular commercial flights to Cuba.
