The new route, announced by the company on Friday, is operated by national carrier Turkmenistan Airlines and is so far the only cargo flight between the UK and Vietnam. It is expected to promote bilateral trade since the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) began to take effect in May 2021.
TT Meridian CEO Thai Tran said he believes that there will be more options besides the direct and indirect services currently available in the market. The company's freight service using A330 aircraft can carry 30 tons of goods which cannot be carried by passenger flights.
