According to British satellite company Inmarsat, the plane flew along the southern corridor and fell in the middle of the southern Indian Ocean, west Perth, Australia. This location is far from any possible landing stie. Najib said that more details will be announced in another press conference on Tuesday. He said Malaysia Airlines has informed passengers’ and aircrew’s families about the latest development. He conveyed his personal condolences to victims’ relatives, and asked the public to respect their privacy.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said China respects the conclusion and urged Malaysia to provide all available information and evidence on which the conclusion was based. Hong said China will continue the search. China’s National Deep-Sea Center sent a ship carrying detection equipment to search the waters for the “black box”.
The announcement that MH370 crashed into the ocean and no one survived naturally has caused distress to the victims’ relatives, but, some people remain unconvinced that this analysis of the data is conclusive.
