(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry has instructed the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine to closely monitor the situation and take measures to guarantee security and safety for Vietnamese citizens in Ukraine.Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Hai Binh made the statement in response to reporters’ queries in Hanoi on Wednesday, adding that the embassy has acted to quickly evacuate Vietnamese citizens from dangerous areas.

There has been no report of Vietnamese casualties in the recent fighting in eastern Ukraine. Binh noted that the Embassy strengthened coordination with local Vietnamese organizations to handle requests for support in cases of unforeseen problems, stabilize their lives in new regions, and help those who want to return to Vietnam.
