(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Public Security on Sunday launched a security drill to ensure safety for the upcoming National Party Congress.

More than 6,000 officers and soldiers of the public security and army forces, and health workers of the capital city, along with representatives from 10 adjacent localities joined the ceremony.
The launching ceremony included the display of military technology and equipment, martial arts performance, and drills to deal with social disorders, violence, fighting terror, rescuing hostages from high buildings, and protecting guests. Forces of the Ministry of National Defense, the Hanoi Capital High Command, and units of the Ministry of Public Security have prepared for any scenarios to ensure security for the event.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong asked the public security and army forces to be in high alert, and ready to deploy forces, and equipment to ensure security and safety of the Congress. He also asked for thorough preparation for and quick response to any possible security situation during the 13th National Party Congress.
