(VOVWORLD) - Shortly after taking office on Wednesday, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received congratulatory letters from President of the National Assembly of Laos Saysomphone Phomvihane, Chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People's Congress Li Zhanshu, and Speakers of the Senate and the House of Representatives of Japan.

In their letters, the foreign parliament leaders said they believe that National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue with his capacity and working experience will lead the National Assembly, the highest-level agency of Vietnam, to successfully exercise its important legislative power, contribute significantly to the defense and development of a rich and prosperous country, and elevate the role and position of Vietnam in regional and international forums.
Vuong Dinh Hue, Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee, was elected Wednesday as Chairman of the National Assembly and the National Election Council, succeeding Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
Mr. Hue, born in 1957 in Nghi Xuan commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province, is a Professor, Doctor of Economics. He has been a member of the Party Central Committee since 2006, a member of the Politburo since 2016, and a National Assembly deputy since 2011.
