Forestry production expected to rise 5.5% annually in 2021-2025 period
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam aims for a growth of 5-5.5% in forestry production in the 2021-2025 period, according to a Government resolution on investment for the sustainable forestry development in the next five years.

The total budget for the program is estimated at 3.4 billion USD, 17% of which will be funded by the State budget with the rest from other sources.
The program targets the sustainable management, protection, development and exploitation of forests, contributing to creating jobs, protecting the ecosystem, eco-diversity, adapting to climate change, and protecting national defence and security.
It will focus on maintaining the existing forest coverage of 42% in a sustainable manner and developing new areas in 2021-2025.
The export value of wood and forestry products is expected to reach 20 billion USD by 2025.
