(VOVworld) – Indonesian civil aviation head Djoko Murjatmodjo confirmed Tuesday that the debris found by a search team in the Java Sea is part of missing AirAsia flight QZ8501.

Murjatmodjo said the Indonesian Transport Minister will arrive in Pangkalan Bun soon.
Murjatmodjo said large objects such as doors to the passenger cabin and cargo hold were found 160 km southwest of Pangkalan Bun on Borneo.
Reuters cited an unnamed Indonesian aviation official as saying that a body, life-vests, luggage, and plane wreckage were spotted off the west coast of Borneo.

So far, according to the Indonesian navy, at least 40 bodies have been recovered from the sea.

Indonesia's search-and-rescue agency head Bambang Sulistyo said Tuesday that searchers discovered a dark shape under the water which is believed to match the shape of the missing plane.
