Four Vietnamese university projects to receive AUF grants

(VOVWORLD) -  Four Covid-19-related projects designed by four Vietnamese universities have been selected by the Francophone University Agency (AUF) to receive grants from the agency’s 1 million euro fund for COVID-19 research.

HCMC’s National University received a grant for an initiative that will allow labs to develop cheap COVID-19 test kits with quick and accurate results.

Hanoi Technology University is working with Bach Mai hospital to develop a negative pressure isolation stretcher which will help medical workers avoid infection while transporting COVID-19 patients.

Da Nang University is developing other medical equipment that will limit cross-transmission between patients and medical staff.

HCMC’s Architecture University is developing a variation of the Foldable Aerosol Box to help prevent viral infection from aerosol droplets.

The 4 Vietnamese projects were selected from 2,000 entries from 79 countries.

The AUF put out, from April 10 to May 5, an international call for projects and initiatives by students, young engineers, and young researchers at higher education institutions located in AUF member countries.
