Fourth World Conference of OVs slated for August
(VOVWORLD) - 600 delegates are expected to attend the 4th World Conference of Overseas Vietnamese (OV) and the 2024 forum of OV intellectuals and experts scheduled to take place in Hanoi from August 21-28, according to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang.

Ms. Hang, who is also Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, said at Tuesday’s press briefing that the conference and the forum will review two decades of implementing the Politburo's Resolution on OV affairs.
The events also seek to enhance the dissemination of Party guidelines and State laws to OVs and provide a platform for domestic agencies to understand the expatriates’ situation, aspirations, and challenges, she said.
Delegates will discuss the role of the Vietnamese diaspora in high-tech development, economic growth, national unity, as well as the promotion of Vietnamese culture and language.
The Prime Minister is expected to attend and deliver a keynote address at the opening session.
At the briefing, Deputy Minister Hang also unveiled that the Vietnam Summer Camp 2024 will be held in 12 provinces and cities from July 14 to 29, involving 120 young OVs aged between 16 and 24.
