Within the last month, hundreds of migrants have sought to reach Britain through this tunnel. This is the first visit of French Prime Minister Manuel Valls to Calais since the migration crisis began. Valls and European Commission Vice-President Frans Timmermans visited Jules Ferry Center which has received and now supports 115 women and children. Timmermans said the EC will grant France an extra 5 million euro to build a “refugee camp” for migrants. French PM Valls said in resolving the refugee crisis, France and Germany are fully committed but several countries are working against the EU.
